World AIDS Day Activities - VCT, UN Run and the Children's training

21 Nov 2017

Dear Colleagues,

Every year on 1st December, the world marks the World AIDS Day(WAD) to raise awareness on HIV/AIDS as well as to commemorate the lives of those who have passed on. This day is also marked to celebrate the milestones achieved in ensuring access to testing and treatment. As you run or walk to keep healthy, you will be contributing towards charity by helping an orphaned child.  The proceeds of the run will be used to support a children’s home.

As is our tradition at UNON, we mark WAD with the UN Run.  This event will take place within the UN Gigiri complex on the morning Friday, 1st December 2017 from 8.30 am, to be flagged off from the Main Lobby by the UNON Director General Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde.

We invite you all to register to take part in this run/walk, by paying a small registration fee of Kes 600. You will receive a commemorative T-shirt upon registration.
We look forward to running with you to promote this great cause.
2.  As a run up to the WAD, we will hold a VCCT campaign from 27th November to 1st December 2017 for all who would like to get to know their HIV status. The VCCT tents will be located near the Bus parking area and the Eastern Carpark
3. On 11th December 2017, we will wind up the year with the Children’s training on HIV related issues dubbed “Social Pressure, Friendship and Mindfulness”. Enroll your young ones from age 10 and above to benefit from this enlightening training.

Please see the attachments for registration details for the run and the children’s training.
